My Students Have Fun!

Students learn best when they are enjoying themselves. I use board games, ipad apps, art activities and loads of imagination to get my students are invested in learning musical theory and technique.   I love hearing my students tell their parents that they are having too much fun to leave!

My Students Create!

My students are well rounded musicians who can play music from the classic masters, the latest pop albums and even improvise their own tunes.  All my students learn composition and have the opportunity to share their favorite original piece at our spring Composer’s Concert.  Several of my students have even gone on to record their own albums!

My Students Succeed!

Every one of my students have the opportunity to perform and compete throughout the year.  Whether it is studying for the VMTA State Theory Exams, participating in the local Fall Music Festival or competitions, or playing for our twice-a-year group recitals, I encourage my students to participate as they feel comfortable and ready.  The skills I teach my students allow them to perform in front of audiences confidently and consistently receive top scores in their exams.

My Students Collaborate!

Whether they perform in a duet recital with a family member or friend, pass each other encouraging “Performance Note Cards,” or participate in a studio-wide competition involving teams of “Musical Mages,” my students are given opportunities to connect with each other, learn from each other and encourage each other.  I believe music has the power to bring people together and I want my students to have that experience.
